A grand total of 70 ladies, gentlemen and brethren gathered in the ‘1882’ banqueting suite at Burnley FC on Saturday 31st January 2015 to enjoy Brierfield Lodge’s Ladies’ Evening.
Hosted by Worshipful Master David Biggs and his wife Sue, the fun started at 6.30 pm with pre-dinner drinks, and lasted until well after midnight when the last of us climbed into our taxis.
The menu comprised Minestrone Soup; Roast Beef with Yorkshire Puddings (hmm, in Lancashire?), Potatoes & Seasonal Vegetables; Tiramisu (a favourite of the WM’s wife) and Cheese & Biscuits, accompanied by an excellent selection of wines.
Musical entertainment was provided throughout the evening by Johnny Mack (his stage name) who is himself a member of the Lodge of Amity & Rossendale Forest in the neighbouring East Ribble District.
