Congratulations to our newest Master Mason

Tuesday 18th November 2014 marked yet another milestone in the history of Brierfield Lodge when Brother Michael Jack Worden was Raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason, the first such ceremony by the Lodge in our new premises at Padiham Masonic Assembly Rooms. The ceremony was conducted by the current Master, WBro David Biggs PAGDC, Michael’s proposer into Freemasonry, able assisted by the officers of the Lodge. The Traditional History of the Third Degree was most ably and eloquently delivered by WBro Albert Young, PProvSGW of Huntroyd Lodge. Following the ceremony, the Brethren retired to the festive board for a sumptuous repast of Mr Coady’s stew and dumplings with roast potatoes, followed by trifle. Despite completing a full toast list and enduring a response to the visitors toast by WBro Harvey Capstick who remarked – as expected – that we were ‘nearly as good as Abbey Lodge’, we were all on our way home by 10.30 pm.

Congratulations to Bro. Worden, no doubt he will be introduced to the answers offered by the Royal Arch degree in the coming 12 months. Look forward to that.
